Marizi Martinez

Vocal Coach

Marizí Martínez was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, raised in Carolina, and lived in New York before settling in Florida. Her passion for music began at the age of eight, inspired by watching her older siblings sing together. Following the loss of her father at 15, Marizí found refuge in music, teaching herself to play guitar and piano and beginning to compose her own songs.

Her formal music education included studies at Puerto Rico’s Escuela Libre de Música, where she trained under Professor Liz Dania and others in areas such as music theory, piano, guitar, choral singing, and jazz. During college, she performed with the Puerto Rico Symphonic Choir at the Centro de Bellas Artes in Santurce, singing "Carmina Burana," and took on a lead role in the Broadway musical Miss Saigon through the Taller de Teatro Lírico. Under the guidance of renowned vocal coach Hilda Ramos, a Metropolitan Opera performer and mentor to contestants on Puerto Rico’s Objetivo Fama, Marizí refined her vocal skills. Her dedication earned her the title of Festival de la Voz winner, representing Río Piedras across the island.

In 2010, Marizí moved to the United States in pursuit of opportunities in secular music. Over the past 14 years, she has prepared countless singers, including winners of major festivals and Panama’s Soundhits reality show, where she served as both judge and vocal coach. She began teaching voice and piano in New York City’s music schools, working with students of all ages.

During the pandemic, God placed a new calling on her heart: to prepare worshippers for His glory. Without promotion, ministries from various nations began seeking her online vocal coaching. Her work transformed worship teams, equipping them with the skills to serve with excellence. One New Jersey ministry, starting with no musical knowledge, developed a worship team in months, moving their congregation to tears of joy.

In 2017, Marizí experienced a profound encounter with God, inspiring her debut single, Tu Amor es Grande. This song earned her the “Revelation of the Year” award at the 2022 Premios Redención del Arte Cristiano in New York and a nomination for "Best Video of the Year" at El Galardón in Puerto Rico. In 2023, she released her second Christian single, Espíritu Santo Consolador, a song birthed from her Pentecost encounter in 2020, dedicated to the Holy Spirit.

Marizí’s journey is a testament to God’s grace and calling, as she continues to use her gifts to equip others and glorify Him through music.
